driving rules

Have you ever gotten stuck behind a car at a red light and then the red light turns green and the person in front of you doesn't go anywhere?  Of course you have.  So what is the proper thing to do?

If I am in a good mood when this happens, I lightly tap the horn and toot the person in front of me back to reality and we go on our merry way.

If I am in a bad mood, I let a few four letter words fly, lay on the horn, and flip off the ass in front of me for not knowing how to drive.

Both seem reasonable to me - depending on my mood.  But my question is...what if the car in front of me is a cop?  Because that is what happened to me this morning.

For the record, I did nothing.  Waited.  Watched the green go from green to yellow to red.  And waited for the next green.
