I managed to keep it a secret from Ladybug. Until we were entering the gates. I woke her up early. She complained. She didn't understand why we had to get up before the sun. She dressed and got in the car. And didn't even notice the suitcases. I told her we were going on an adventure and she just needed to trust me (something she is not great at doing). We stopped at the gas station and got drinks. She asked me if that was out adventure.
We drove for 10 hours and arrived at Disney. And promptly got lost. I drove down the street looking for the resort. I drove up the street looking for the resort. I stopped to ask and by chance we were at the right place. We were staying with Lamama Loca and her entire crew.
It was late in the day and we (or at least I) was tired from a long trip. We got a whirl wind tour by the monorails and then went to dinner. If you are planning a trip to Disney...eat at Ohana. Yum Yum Yum! It is a protein lovers delight. They just kept bringing more and more. And I was hungry. I wonder if my opinion of the other food was not as high because I ate so much over the week and therefore was never as hungry as that first night? Either way...eat at Ohana.
The first day was at Epcot. It is easy to say that 1 day is not enough time to see this attraction. Actually, I think it might be fair to say that a week is not enough time. They did get me on the Fast Track ride. Once. Ladybug went twice. Crazy. Scary. Hated it. But then, I hate all roller coasters. Then we traveled around the lake. Meeting princesses. And Gaston. Ladybug loved Gaston. Then dinner with the princesses.
Here are a few pictures from the day:
The girls all wore princess dresses. And loved it. But Ladybug kept picking at the seams of her dress until she had a ripped seam down the front of her bodice. So while the rain poured down and we were in the China section, I found her a Mulan dress that she loved.
When I crawled in bed that night I was exhausted. Beyond exhausted. I was pretty sure that I would never again be able to crawl out of bed again.
Second day was Animal Kingdom (I think). Again not enough time. Lots of shows and animals and fun. Ladybug freaked out at the idea of riding the dinosaur roller coaster but otherwise fun was had by all.
The ride went fast and I was just snapping the photos -- it wasn't until I was looking at the photos a few days later that I discovered I caught the ostrich going potty,
The third day we went to Hollywood Studios. I think I am blocking most of this day. Oh wait... this was the day filled with roller coasters and other scary rides. I, luckily, volunteered for babysitting duty with the youngest one who was not big enough for the rides. They rode. I didn't. Everyone was happy. Well, except I rode the Tower of Terror. The name alone should have told me it was a bad idea. I was sure...absolutely no doubt...that I was going to die. Again Ladybug went twice.
We cut the day short and went back to the treehouse for a nap. I so needed a nap. And apparently everyone else did too. We woke up late and ran back to Epcot for dinner at Coral Reef. I am sure it was a great place to eat but I was no longer hungry. I was thirsty, however. The heat. The sun. The walking. I could not get enough to drink.
The fourth day we went to Magic Kingdom. Rides, lunch, more rides. My feet were killing me. I was thirsty. It was raining again. I was tired.
And apparently I was sick of taking photos because I have none to share.
Overall, we had a fabulous time. Ladybug loved having all the other kids with her. She really loved Drama Mama. Which I am not surprised by. And she is already asking when she can go back again.
Mean Mama
