10% Challenge

I have had a lot of posts in my head.  And not a lot of motivation to get them down on the actual blog.  I was rather unimpressed with my 15 blog posts last month.  I must be better this month.  So I am blogging tonight.  But I am cheating in my blog post.  I stole this from another blog.  But I can't remember which one -- because even though I have been bad about writing, I have been good about writing.

So here is the 10% challenge:

For one month I will track all money I spend.  I will add 10% to each purchase.  At the end of the month I will donate that 10% to a charity.  So if I spend $100 on groceries then $10 goes to the charity.  If I spend $30 on gas then I will give $3 to charity.  If I spend $10 on lunch  then I will give $1 to charity.  All spending - well almost.  I am including bills.  I am not including rent.  I am challenging myself to make conscious decisions about my spending.  And I am challenging myself to give to others.

I will be deciding on which charity soon but at the moment I am seriously considering ECMA Hana Fund.  I will be posting about Hana in a separate post later.
