And some of it was my fault. I managed to convince her to get dressed but it was a fight to get her in a pair of sneakers. I was not going to have her walking through a corn field in sandals. But I finally got her in a pair of sneakers and in the car.
Then I got lost. I so need a GPS. I thought I knew where I was going. But apparently I didn't. I missed a turn but didn't know it. I turned around and guessed at the turn. Then I missed the farm. I mean, I saw the farm but I didn't know it was THE farm. So I turned around again. Finally pulled into the farm, parked, and turned off the car.
Ladybug had fallen asleep so I woke her up. She immediately saw the big bouncy house -- and got an attitude. Which made no sense to me. She loves bouncy houses. Why would she hate the idea of being at a bouncy house? I think I have managed to get her attitude to change before we get to the booth to pay. But then she throws a fit over needing to pay. Is she just fighting me to be fighting me?
The credit card machine was down. I absolutely never carry cash on me. Never! I spend cash. I think about the card. So I got back in the card to find an ATM. With attitude from Ladybug. She wasn't getting back in the card. She wasn't going to have fun. She wasn't going to be nice. So I used the trip to the ATM to work on a major attitude adjustment. And, luckily, it worked.
She enjoyed the bouncy house, which I knew she would. She dug in the sand pit until she hit earth. I did have to stop her from taking a shovel away from a baby but otherwise it was good. She rode a pony. She got her face painted like a tiger.
And then we headed into the actual maze. And the attitude started. We had literally walked about 3 feet into the maze when she announced she was done. But I wouldn't let her stop. And we trudged on. With whining. And not from me. For a while. But it was about 90 degrees. In the sun. With no breeze. It was hot. And the maze was huge. We found 6 of the 10 check points but then I needed out.
A little ice cream and water and we both managed to finish the day in a positive way.
