One morning during vacation Ladybug came to my bedroom and woke me up...sobbing. Tears were streaming down her face.
As I mentioned before, mornings are not my thing. And she is waking me up. Sobbing. As I struggled to wake up all I could think was, "This is not a drill! Wake up. Deal with it. Repeat, this is NOT a drill!"
Mama: Honey, what is wrong?
Ladybug: I...sob...don't...sob...want...sob...to...sob...die.
Mama: What? Who said you are going to die?
Ladybug: You did!
Mama: (quick, think...what is she talking about? I said it?) What? I said you were going to die? When?
Ladybug: A long time ago. And I don't want to die.
Mama: (I seriously have no recollection of this) Oh Honey, I don't remember saying that. You are not going to die. You are a little girl. You have a long life ahead of you. (please let that be true)
Ladybug: Okay.
And skips out of the room. I collapse on the bed.
Good morning.
Mean Mama
