I want your opinion...really.
So today I found out that one of my bosses has been issued a concealed weapons permit. Which means he can bring a gun to work. How would you feel if this were your job?
Don't get me wrong...I am neither for or against guns. I know how to shoot a gun and even found pleasure with doing target practice. I have worked in a police department before so been around guns. I have very good friends who are cops so they have guns in their house and I have no issues being in their house.
I do not own a gun. I made a very deliberate choice not to own a gun.
I do not own any kind of weapon -- except kitchen knives.
I use to carry mace when in college even though the police suggested against it. I no longer do.
Give me opinions please.

Given all this other issues, I'd be bothered by it!! Very creepy
ReplyDeletebased on La Mama Loca's comment I figure there's a lot to the story re: your boss.
ReplyDeleteon the surface, I wish I could have the option to carry a concealed weapon. (I wasn't raised with guns in the house so have never bought one..especially now since I have a child and am unfamiliar with weapons/home/children scenario) Shootings happen a lot in public schools and I work at one, so would be nice not to be a sitting duck as well as knowing every other adult is a sitting duck as well.
that being said, not sure of your situation but I can imagine it may be a bit distressing.
My former boss was a gun-collecting, gun-totin', Part-time NRA lobbyist with an arsenal of now-illegal assault rifles. That being said, if he carried a handgun, it wouldn't have bothered me. But then again, I live in Texas, and our governor carries a gun in his boot. :)
