seeing the future

Yesterday was the 5 year anniversary of being woken up in the middle of the night by my agency to let me know that I had a referral -- they were so excited that they could not wait for morning to tell me.

A few nights before I got my referral I had a dream.  I had a dream that I received my referral of a little girl from Ethiopia (unlike previous dreams where I would get a referral of a blond girl from Hawaii -- hey, dreams don't always make sense).  She was a beautiful little girl named Magdalina.

I woke up and ran to my computer.  I pulled up a map of Ethiopia. For some reason I knew it would tell me something.  I looked at the map.  I was drawn to the north part of Ethiopia.  And I knew that meant my daughter was from the north.  I have a dream about a girl named Magdalina and that means my child is from the north???  Doesn't make sense.  And on top of it, none of the children my agency had referred up to that point was from the north part of Ethiopia.  But I was sure of it.  And the dream stuck with me.

Soon after getting my referral (because it came in bits and pieces) I found out that my daughter was from Gondar -- the north part of Ethiopia.  Her name, however, was not Magdalina.

After Ladybug had been home from about a year or so I decided to search for more information on her.  I found that she was taken to a orphanage in Gondar before she was transferred to the orphanage in Addis Ababa.  Upon further research of the orphanage in Gondar, I discovered that the woman who ran the program was named Magdalina.

Sometimes our dreams can tell us things, if we know how to listen to them.
