If anybody

Most of the time I hear adoptive parents teaching people who are not adoptive parents about how their language needs to be changed. 

Our children are not the "lucky" ones.
They are our "real" children.
We don't like to talk about the details of their history in public.

But what I also hear those same adoptive parents saying is just as disturbing.  I have heard several parents say "If anybody serves X, Y, or Z, it is an adoptive parent."

Huh?

We are normal, everyday families but please treat us special because we adopted? 

Does not compute.
